On the one hand, illustrating picture books for clients is insanely rewarding! But, on the other hand, it’s a special type of storytelling that isn’t always easy.
Here, the images and text are equally important—one cannot overshadow the other.

Willow’s Goodknight Lights was a true collaboration between the author and myself—the way a children’s picture book is supposed to be!
It is the first picture book I have ever illustrated for a client. I’ve done a fair bit of art and layout design in one-off projects (magazine covers and interior layout), but never something this big.
